Course Description

This course provides an in-depth exploration of adolescent mental health, focusing on the psychological, emotional, and social factors that influence well-being during the teenage years. It examines common mental health conditions, risk and protective factors, and the impact of family, school, social media, and peer relationships. The course also highlights early intervention strategies, support systems, and the roles of educators, caregivers, and healthcare professionals in promoting mental wellness among adolescents.

Course Objectives

  1. To understand the developmental stages of adolescence and their impact on mental health.
  2. To identify common mental health challenges faced by adolescents, including anxiety, depression, and behavioural disorders.
  3. To analyse the role of social, familial, and environmental factors in adolescent mental health.
