Course Description

This course focuses on equipping educators, counsellors, and school leaders with practical strategies to foster resilience and intrinsic motivation in students. Drawing from psychological theories, developmental research, and real-world case studies, participants will learn how to identify barriers to student engagement and implement supportive interventions. The course promotes a holistic approach that nurtures emotional well-being, growth mindsets, and self-regulated learning—key components for student success in both academic and personal spheres.

Course Objectives

  1. To understand the psychological foundations of resilience and motivation in young learners.
  2. To identify common social, emotional, and academic challenges that impact student motivation.
  3. To develop strategies that build resilience and encourage positive coping mechanisms.
  4. To design classroom and school-wide practices that support motivation and perseverance.
  5. To promote student autonomy, self-efficacy, and goal-setting behaviour.
