The Internet has changed the way of doing business rapidly. This course describes the basic principles of e-business technologies. Upon completing this course, students are expected to have an excellent working knowledge of e-business concepts, applications and technologies. In addition, and after understanding the main concepts, students are expected to initiate and launch an online business. This course tries to explore how e-business is working upon and the possibilities of introducing e-business in an interdisciplinary area encompassing both business and technology. The course allows students to develop analytical skills as well as predict changing trends in the area of online business. The course provides students with the fundamental knowledge required of business practices, including marketing, customer relations, formulating business strategies, management, finance, and many more. Students will learn how to paraphrase all of these business skills into the online environment and will master courses on database management, information security, IT, Web design, and even supply chain management. These courses will give students the fundamental skills they will need to not only manage a business but also to know how to successfully navigate the technology. Basic business dimensions and their applications in commercial business, government, education, and health services are covered. Students are exposed to various issues and risks that exist in the rapidly changing world of e-business.
