Description
In this course, students will become familiar with different ways of exercising leadership, their strengths and weaknesses, and how they can best work with others in a leadership context. This course is the emphasis the application of concepts in actual leadership situations. The topics include leadership theories, personal assessment and development, values and ethics, motivation, power, followership, group dynamics, multi-culturalism in leadership, conflict resolution, performance excellence, and change process. Through a process of readings and case studies, the student will identify, observe, analyze, and apply new leadership behaviours. Based on the premise that each student will face various leadership challenges in life, learning more about leadership will help every student meet their leadership challenges. The student will also learn about employee empowerment, including its different approaches, advantages and disadvantages. You will also have an opportunity to take a brief quiz after the lesson to reinforce your knowledge.
